The Hook-In Was a Success!

Our annual hook-in has come and gone, and what a fun event it was! We had a great turn out with 35 people in attendance. It was held at a great venue in Morgan with lots of room and great light - an entire wall of windows to make it easy to see. The board worked hard to make it a success and they are pictured below. Thanks to all of them!

Here's an overall picture of the room.

Leah gave us information about the history of fraktur designs - they are very adaptable to rug hooking.

The rug show had some great pieces - which one is your favorite?

These are the rugs that participants were working on throughout the day.....

.....and there were other projects besides rugs that were being worked on.
Quilting.....

Knitting....

Crafting with wool....

It was a great day with lots of eye candy and delicious food. Can't wait till next year!

Class Project

Marianne is one of four gals who started working on Sharon Smith's poppy rug design during our recently three day workshop - and she has completed it wonderfully! It's now on display at Corn Wagon Quilts in Springville if you want to stop by and see it in person. Good job Marianne!

Our Great Members

Wanted to spotlight a couple of our members & their accomplishments.....

Our Guild President, Angela, recently attended Summerfest in Bountiful, where she demonstrated rug hooking to passersby for a couple days. For her efforts, she got a mention in a newspaper article, which you can read at this link at the Davis Clipper. So nice that she was able to promote the art of rug hooking in this fun setting.

And a huge KUDOS to Jennifer, who is now selling her original rug designs through Sharon Smith's website. You can see what's available on this link. A very exciting development for her - congratulations!
