Rug Show

There were SO many beautiful rugs to be seen at our recent hook-in.  People's Choice awards were given to the rugs receiving the most votes - here are the winners with their work.

Such a huge variety in subject matter and hooking styles - each one was a visual treat to see.

Tonia had a one-woman show with so many of her original designs - all of these shown below are hers.

Utah Hook-In

On Saturday, the Utah Rug & Fiber Guild held its annual Hook-In. Attendance was good and everyone who came enjoyed themselves. The board does such a great job of making these events special and their efforts are greatly appreciated by all the members! Each person who signed up for the hook-in received one of these wonderful handmade table favors - paper mache snowmen shakers -no two alike - and destined to become collectors items!

First up were a couple of demonstrations. Nancy showed us how to dye rainbow wool.

She uses it to outline flowers on her rugs to make them POP - so pretty!

There were goody bags for each person containing a kit to make a wool pine cone. Pat walked us through each step for a successful project - several were completed during the day.

Here are photos of various rugs that were being worked on throughout the day. There seemed to be an owl infestation in the building! LOL

Photos from the rug show will be shared in the next post - check back soon!

Another Purse Completed

Myra has finished the purse project she started during our meeting held in Woods Cross a few months ago. Just delightful with all the different techniques that she used. The colors are vibrant against the navy background wool. Great finish!
